We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, including your first name, last name, email address, school name, certification goals, and any bio or notes you choose to add. We also collect information about your use of the Service, including quiz attempts, scores, category performance, and study activity. If you upload a profile photo, that image is stored securely. If you purchase a subscription, payment information is collected and processed by Stripe — we do not store your payment card details.
We use the information we collect to: provide, maintain, and improve the Service; personalize your study experience and track your progress; process payments and manage your subscription; send you service-related communications such as account confirmations; respond to your comments and feedback; and analyze usage patterns to improve our content and features. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a managed database platform with enterprise-grade security. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. User passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Profile photos are stored in secure cloud storage. While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc. When you make a purchase, you are providing your payment information directly to Stripe under their privacy policy and terms of service. We receive only limited information from Stripe such as your customer ID and subscription status. We never have access to your full card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details.
Certified uses authentication cookies to keep you logged in to your account. These are session cookies necessary for the Service to function. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. We do not sell data to advertisers or data brokers. Anonymous analytics may be collected to understand general usage patterns and improve the Service.
We use the following third-party services to operate Certified: Supabase for database and authentication; Stripe for payment processing; and Vercel for hosting and deployment. Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing their use of your information. We encourage you to review their policies.
You have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; update or correct your information through your Profile page; delete your account and associated data at any time from your Profile settings; export your quiz history data upon request; and opt out of non-essential communications. To exercise any of these rights, use the tools available in your account or contact us through the feedback button on the Service.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance purposes. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes.
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.
